Meditation is often viewed as rather mysterious and esoteric, or not available to the ordinary person – and seen as something ‘other people’ do.
At Albany Yoga Room we do our best to de-mystify meditation and make it accessible to everyone. After all meditation is not about ‘doing something’ – it’s more about doing nothing and watching the process. It’s so simple a young child can do it.
With our hectic lifestyles learning to slow down is often challenging. However with the benefits of meditation now appearing as standard fare in many medical journals it is becoming more and more apparent that learning simple meditation techniques can have tremendous health benefits.
It’s the goal of all yoga to reach further from distraction and to come closer to a relationship of calm, reaching a still minded place where deep peace can be found. Practicing pranayama (breathe), Dharana (concentration), Pratyahara (to withdraw of the 5 senses) and Dhyana (meditation). Explore through Kundalini yoga or join us to meditate.
