Exploring Meditation

Heart Soul Meditation workshop with Tarun Kumar from India.

Join us on Friday evening 26th March 2010 from 6.30 - 8.30pm at Albany Yoga Room for an amazing journey into the intricacies of the human being and learn an easy meditation technique you can do every day at home.

About Heart Soul Meditation

The Heart-Soul-Meditation can easily be learnt within 2 hours and no previous meditation experience is required. It is a guided meditation that takes approximately 24 minutes. (We do have chairs to sit on for those of you who need them.) During the session we will learn about the complete human being - including some of its major subtle bodies.

The Complete Human Being

In the scripts of ancient vedic sciences it is explained that human beings have a

physical body in physical level, subtle bodies (e.g. energy body with chakras

and meridians) in cosmic level and soul centres in microcosmic level. While

these are beyond the physical plane, they will be explained using 3D

animated movies

Why do Heart-Soul-Meditation?

The Heart-Soul is considered as a centre of higher emotions (e.g.unconditional love). The Heart-Soul Energy therefore has a "self consciousness".

One of the important properties of this energy is the cleansing of negative energies from the physical and all subtle bodies. The Heart-Soul-Meditation significantly lowers stress-levels on body and mind as during meditation the brain waves reach their theta state which causes deep relaxation and a feeling of bliss.

Regular meditation sessions after yoga classes

Meditation is often viewed as rather mysterious and esoteric, or not available to the ordinary person - and seen as something 'other people' do.

If you would like a very easy introduction to meditation we offer a short guided session almost every week both after the 9.30am Thursday class and after the Sunday class.  Students of these classes are invited to stay on for about 15 minutes for a little group meditation.

At Albany Yoga Room we do our best to de-mystify meditation and make it accessible to everyone. After all meditation is not about 'doing something' - it's more about doing nothing and watching the process. It's so simple a young child can do it.

With our hectic lifestyles learning to slow down is often challenging. However with the benefits of meditation now appearing as standard fare in many medical journals it is becoming more and more apparent that learning simple meditation techniques can have tremendous health benefits.

And for those of you looking for a deeper spiritual connection to yourself or the universe or a power greater than yourself, or indeed to God, there is only one place to look. And for that you need to meditate. Whether you are a complete novice when it comes to meditation, or you have been sitting for many years, we encourage you to come along to the meditation teachers who we are lucky enough to be able to host from time to time.
